SATURDAY PAIRR headed to Burlington, Ontario, to join forces with Travelling Circus Run Group. PAIRR Co-founder Kim Krezonoski kicked off the morning with a 5:30 AM wake-up call, a double-shot latte, and an early quiet drive down the QEW from Toronto to Burlington. The morning was built around the things we love most: getting outside, sharing miles with others, and connecting over coffee and treats from our custom PAIRRing Menu.

What made this event even more special was our connection to Thunder Bay, our northern hometown. Travelling Circus Run Group founder and lead Jamie also grew up in Thunder Bay. After crossing paths at races over the past several years, it was a full-circle moment to come together and host a SATURDAY PAIRR with his running community.

THE
MEET-UP.

Runners came together for SATURDAY PAIRR with Travelling Circus Run Group at M.M. Robinson High, home to a beautiful 400m track surrounded by soft, lush grass and bleachers nestled into a small hillside offering a little shelter from the wind. A small tent was pitched with the famous Travelling Circus black and white stripes.

It was one of those “I wish I could pause time” kind of mornings. The sun was just warm enough and the air was crisp and refreshing. The conditions couldn't have been more perfect for a Saturday morning run.

GIDDY UP / THE RUN

WE RUN.

We kicked things off with a time-based warm-up run through the surrounding neighbourhood streets with 7 minutes out and 7 minutes back to the track. From there, Kim led the 28-person group through a series of dynamic activation exercises and running drills as part of our Active Warm-Up.

Arm swings, lateral shuffles, ABC running drills, and a few 100m strides were all on the menu, getting everyone warmed up, moving efficiently, and ready for the workout ahead.

The main workout featured a "broken" interval format, with runners choosing between a 1K or 800m interval based on their experience, goals, and preferred training volume.

THE WORKOUT:

  • Broken 1K: 800m @ Half Marathon Pace (HMP) / 200m JOG R + 200m FAST / 2 MinR
  • Broken 800m: 600m @ 10K Pace / 1 MinR + 200m FAST / 2 MinR

The goal was to complete 4–6 repetitions of the chosen workout.

From elite runners to those just getting started on their running journey, every pace and ability level was welcome. Everyone had the freedom to choose the workout that suited them best, push their own limits, and share the track getting tips from Coach Kim.

PEACH TREE COFFEE

APRÈS-RUN.

Because a SATURDAY PAIRR isn't complete without time to connect after the miles! We headed to Burlington's local favourite, Peach Tree, for our custom PAIRRing Menu featuring hot coffee and sweet treats.

The Peach Tree staff were wonderful and so accommodating for our large group to get their drinks and treats. From running stories and sock technology to upcoming races and personal goals, the conversations kept flowing long after the track workout ended.

COMMUNITY AT HEART

STAY
AWHILE.

The miles bring us together, but it's the conversations, connections, and moments in between that make SATURDAY PAIRR so special. We all have different backgrounds, goals, day jobs, etc. but coming together on the morning sharing our passion for running and meeting new people over miles and coffee is an absolute dream for us to be able to do as a company.

A GOOD DAY.
